Auteur Theory
The Auteur Theory is that the director has recurring themes in many or all of their film's. I decided that I would choose Tim Burton to show examples of this theory. I find his movies to be very interesting and unique. The two film's of his I will be comparing are his take of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland. Both of these films have many similarities yet they also have many differences. The similarities between them are there darker themed scenes, there intense music, there vivid colours, there unlike reality settings, and there both based off of books. Three voice actors have parts in both of these films 1. Johnny Depp as Willa Wonka and The Mad Hatter 2. Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs.Bucket and The Red Queen 3. Christopher Lee as Dr. Wilbur Wonka and The Jabberwocky.
The Composer of both films is Danny Elfman. He has provided a stunning and gorgeous soundtrack for both of these films that work very well with both. The sounds for both of these films are mainly done as CGI films with live actors and some parts filmed on a real set.
